This was a difficult assignment for me to begin. I found that it was hard for me to come up with ideas for a self reflecting portrait because I’m yet to figure out who I am… but that’s where the basis of my photo came from. It’s a photo of me, by myself, on a swing, in the dark… very simple, kind of boring. But then, after printing, I wrote on it different quotes/lyrics/phrases that I feel represent myself as a person. Every person isn’t just one thing, therefore I didn’t think I could capture “myself” in a single image, and that is why the words helped so much. My ideology for this photo is finding and accepting who you are, and knowing that you are made up of more than one thing.
