Artist Statement

I used this collage to represent my ideology in multiple ways. I am very focused on the questioning of our universe, the pursuit of knowledge, and the power of words, which were represented in my collage by the books, chicken/road, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle figure, and background text. It was also symbolized in caricatures of political symbols and God icons, which were trying to convey that one should not blindly follow a belief. This leads into my thoughts toward religion, which are that people are connected by a force inside us that is shown through love and compassion, which some people call God. I represented this with the images of the earth and universe. The last part of my collage is the anglerfish, which is a fish that has no reason to be happy, but has no idea what else to be.
